Whetstone & Oil

Dedication. Sincerity. Compassion.

God’s word is in fact, the first building block of knowledge. Ancient quests for eternal life and spiritual enlightenment have all taken form of religion. In each religion is a warrior’s code. The Holy Bible provides every necessary tool for us to keep our minds sharp and our faith rustless.

God’s word is the sword that we only hope to carry in its beautiful fullness. It takes years and hundreds of hours of devotion to study. Everyday, children must awaken with their parents and have a chance to deeply and chronologically, in their own lives, relate with the word of God. Parents, especially mothers, have this divine duty to educate their children without frustration but with a love of learning, dedication, sincerity, and compassion. Our souls must be strong enough to handle the fire of God’s word day in and day out. Even if our husbands are gone on business for days or months at a time.

It is not difficult for a child to sit for one hour a day to hear his mother read God’s holy word. No, in fact, every child gains something from Hoon Dok Hae: Daily Scripture Reading gives form and distinction to their life character. Children are capable of watching TV for three-hours straight before they get restless. It is the sincere, compassionate, dutiful, and dedicated mother who will unfailingly wear her robes as a providential teacher to create the daily perfect environment for her children to attribute their time—one hour a day—to the greeting and spoken substance of God’s word. Mothers should never gossip but only speak in truth.

In the tradition of the Messiah’s 5AM Hoon Dok Hae readings, soon, children begin to develop strength in God’s faith. We shall not neglect the Princes and Princesses of Heavenly Father here on this earth even if fallen parents have done worse to us. Everyday, our swords are whet upon the whetstone and oiled before sheathing to prevent decay and rust. So too, our minds must be sharpened against God’s word. His absolute love, life and lineage covers our spirits in oil. Daily scripture readings provide health in both exercise and nutrition to our souls so that our own faith in God may never rust.

Fairytale Holy Blessing

Fairytale Castle

Everyone fantasizes about having a fairytale love but the ideal of a perfect marriage is closer to reality than we want to admit. Our traditions of sexual purity before marriage and centering our love life and lineage on God provide tools to keep a long healthy marriage despite setbacks such as Satanic parental influences and our selfish expectations of marriage. The good days are closer than we think.

Most Second Generation of the Unification Church, such as myself and my husband go into marriage as virgins. It is not unusual for the participants to even be so pure as to not know how sex is performed, with the penis and vagina. I was in utter shock when my husband put his penis into my body: I had not known such a thing was possible. The Holy Blessing gives men and women the opportunity to discover sex for the first time with God as their center. This pure union is vital to extending our innocence into marriage and then into the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and into the Kingdom of Heaven in Heaven.

Unfortunately, many setbacks lie in the wake of Blessed Couples. Satanic cultural influences are actually first the most threatening in the form of our parents, who have been reared in Satanic families. The most fearsome thing is when your mother-in-law, whom you trust with absolute obedience proclaims that you are not a virgin and brainwashes your husband and the entire family to treat you like trash. It is scary when you are unable to even finish college because your husband believes that you are promiscuously giving yourself to every fellow there simply because his mother told him so. How does one save a Blessing like that? It is only by God’s grace that Blessed couples can overcome such a horrific atrocity in their lives and continue their Holy Blessing marriage centered on His love life and lineage.

Men and women who are born of God’s lineage usually have very high expectations of each other. However, given our naiveté and the Satanic setbacks we do endure, it is sometimes unreasonable to expect our hopes for education goals, financial reach, and societal prominence to be established immediately. Instead, with great perseverance in the ideal we find ourselves following the thorny footsteps of God, Jesus, and True Parents in every step of our existence. The Holy Blessing is the only path to achieving the ultimate ideal.

Hope Against Sorrow

Freedom & Responsibility

Building Strength

Ever wonder how some people stay so cheerful? Many helpful resources encourage people to stay positive. Just look in the mirror. Are we exactly where we want to be? Is our self-image satisfying? Usually our own happiness is not about what others are doing or how they themselves are in ecstatic joy. Real struggles or unwanted burdens are personal and sometimes more than we can take.

When things get overwhelming our emotions often ensnare us into a bad mood. Sadly, that bad mood worsens when we cannot find solutions to our problems. Yet it is a great American attitude to traditionally be able to solve any issue if we just think hard enough. So, we turn to the Holy Bible. As we see in Genesis 6, God’s greater struggle and sorrow emcompasses that of the entire existence of humankind. At least we can take comfort in the fact that we are truly not alone. Someone else understands, in much greater depth, the troubles that we face in life.

“The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.” Genesis 6:6

God’s solution to his regret was to use a man called Noah who “found favor in [His] eyes.” (Genesis 6:8) God did not just randomly wipe out the human race with the flood. He worked through an invisible intangible faith based relationship with Noah to save the human race. People had even gone so far to fornicate with the Nephilim and had completely perverted themselves. On a secular level, pure little Noah must have looked corrupt in his innocent life as he did not partake in the worldly culture to enjoy himself with abandon. Instead of relating with people, Noah related with only one God for his entire life to build a boat in the desert. How crazy he must have looked!

Yet Noah’s strength and spiritual joy was non-negotiable. He worked on improving himself a little bit more everyday as he built this gigantic arc in the desert that would one day house all the land creatures that God had created. If he had focused on the perception and disbelief of others toward himself he may not have succeeded in building that boat. His productive faith was his strength. Let’s remember, that Noah’s work was God’s solution to eradicate the complete corruption of the rest of the people on earth. Noah carried an inhuman burden with joy and strength because his faith and exercise toned his muscles (spiritually and physically) to bear the weight of his responsiblity.

Today, we can pull up blogs and articles on the internet that offer great advice to stay happy. In an article that lists seven ways to stay happy, four out of those seven points—that’s over half!—propose different ways to enjoy creation. (Mcdonnell) The great outdoors was created for the learning and enjoyment of God’s children, anyways! Point two of the article even recommends that reading be done outside so that we can relax and learn and at the same time soak in all the fresh air. Our wonderful True Father took it to the next level. He established prayer points on properties all over the world outdoors! Our lovely wonderful Heavenly Father wants to meet us in joy as we carefully shoulder the responsibility of our freedoms in God.

LOVE

The all-knowing and all-powerful God is the Master of true love, and yet God does not want the root of this love to begin from Him.

Christians can easily identify God as omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. True Father speaks greatly on the correctness of these qualities of God according to the principle of love.

Listen to his words on the DPconversations podcast by clicking here. Rev. Sun Myung Moon, our True Father, very clearly distinguishes God’s desire of love as the most important attribute of God. Since God identifies Himself in human-beings, He is happiest when we share love with Him.

“God likes love. What kind of love does God like most? It is true love. But what is true love? Where would we say true love has its root? Its root does not lie in God. This sounds strange, doesn’t it? The all-knowing and all-powerful God is the Master of true love, and yet God does not want the root of this love to begin from Him. God thinks that He will plant the root in a person who can be the object of this love.” (CSG 74)

How happy we are when we understand that all we need is love? Satan tries to block us saying, “You don’t have enough money; your clothes are not good enough; you don’t know enough to speak on someone as high and mighty as God!” The reality though, is that we have exactly as much as we need and loving God in every situation is the best way to go.

Shed the doubts. Cast away the fears clanging around in your past, in your mind, in your heart. In the name of Jesus and True Parents, we are free to love God!

Cherished.

The one who cherishes love most is God.

Good Morning!

In Today’s 훈독회 Hoon Dok Hae (HDH) reading, I did get the audio to fully record everything I said but the record will sound off center. Click here to listen to this morning’s DPconversations broadcast! I promise, it will get better. Please bear with me.

Whilst I was reading True Father’s words I really did not wish to interrupt his thought on the podcast. Although I spoke minimally, I would like to share my interest in His passage that discusses the nature of love.

“What did God mean when He said, ‘I am love.’ He was teaching us to cherish love by night and day, while working, resting, dancing or crying. In like manner, He could say, ‘I have love, I have love in its entirety.’ Having love in its entirety would mean that everything was invested into it. The one who cherishes love most is God. He has all of that love, yet once we have tasted it we are unable to let go of it even in death.”

Heavenly Father began the creation of the universe with investment. True Father declines the limited view of political science and says that it was not randomness nor some kind of perverted expansion of species through the millennium but only love that initiated creation. He claims that time exists through eternity because, after all, time is just a component of our physical world.

I am no scholar but if the idea of love and the question of whether love is the starting point of the universe tickles your curiosity, please keep listening to my shared public readings of the Cheon Seong Gyeong! I do stumble here and there at times and I apologize if listening is a little cumbersome. Surely, episode four will show some improvements. Meanwhile, please welcome episode three.

Still Alive

When we are cold, we first feel cold before we think, “I am cold.”…Likewise, because God exists, you must be able to feel His existence with your cells. (CSG 54)

Today, I’d like to take you into one of my favorite passages of the Cheon Seong Gyeong. Look at CSG 54, there you will see a passage that discusses God’s existence. Sometimes without our choosing and beyond our understanding we are made aware of certain things. As we study and grow God interacts with our minds to bring us to new levels of experience in our daily lives. True Father says it clearly:

“God’s existence is not just a matter of words. Rather, the position we must establish is that God existed before we had cognition of Him and that He rules over all our senses and over everything to do with us.” (CSG 54)

True Father discusses God’s existence in these passages. He explains how there is a higher dimension than that of the understanding of humanity. Through True Parents He is able to manifest His love in our lives because True Parents allow Him to be the eternal invisible Parent of a physical humankind.

On a side note, I was not able to finish section two of the reading because, to my surprise, the recording program I have been using does not extend past a certain limit of time. I apologize for the cut in the content but will hopefully have this resolved for Tomorrow’s podcast.

Becoming The Woman I Want To Be

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Dear Readers,

A lot of people have mentioned to me that I am too personal with my work on DPconversations. I am indeed personal with you on my thoughts and feelings and the willful expression of my love for God and all humankind. If I have chosen to be personal it was for the public good: I have been personal with you on public issues. These issues are near and dear to our hearts. Over these last five years-plus, I have shared myself with you on DPconversations through youtube videos. This is who I am! You have dealt with, along with me, the perplex experiences that I have gone through with leaders at Sanctuary Church, a thorough delving into the Divine Principle of Sun Myung Moon, and my general attendance and support of Hyung Jin Moon at Sanctuary Church in Newfoundland, PA. I have both felt very much loved and deeply hated…to be almost in total isolation afterwards.

I guess you don’t know what to do with me; this girl from East Garden, whose life really does make faith that much more gallantly poignant in the fabric of your reality. Every person now has direct access to the love and understanding that God personally shared with me throughout my life. As you heard me testify in my first podcast, I did indeed spend every chance I got with Rev. Sun Myung Moon  as a high school student. I spent a lot of time with our great Master of Love because I loved him. Now, his son Hyung Jin Moon has taken his father’s throne. ACHOO! Did someone say they were allergic to Monarchy? Patriarchy? Jesus died with a plaque above his head entitled “King of the Jews,” so if you are Christian, you will be happy to know that our Prince of Peace really has finally come to fully represent God as True Parents.

As such, I am also a Queen of God in my Holy Blessing, my King of God being my husband Alex. This is the Queen’s report. That’s exactly what it is. As a couple of faith who must deal outside of the church with regular people doing regular things, jobs, businesses, and all sorts of bills and a great deal of U.S. taxes, I come back to DPconversations to share my heart with you—and it is my passion to share my faith universally. There is nothing wrong with that. I am everyday becoming the woman I want to be…or at least I hope so! Often, I feel wearied with the responsibility of saving the world as I can hardly manage to keep my kitchen perfect sparkling clean with four little children running around. In order to become the people we wish to be we often find the chores taking the back-end of our efforts, so don’t judge me if my laundry gets out of hand: I’m not Amish.

I have this vision of sharing God’s joy throughout the world, with everyone. I know that it is possible. Moving forward is key. Wherever we may find ourselves, we must be attuned to our reality and the gift of God’s desire! God is the highest standard of life, so we must also become the people that we want to see in the mirror, people that we can say we are proud of and happy to know; especially if left all alone. The truth must be spoken, but I don’t hate anybody.

DPconversations Podcast

Absolute love | Absolute faith | Absolute obedience

Rev. Sun Myung Moon always used to refer to these three terms to describe our relationship with God. It was an honor for me to attend True Father Sun Myung Moon during morning Hoon Dok Hae meetings, which, I discuss in my podcast.

For the longest time, I had wanted to start a DPconversations podcast as I had felt awkward reading long portions of text to you, my audience, on YouTube videos.

So this short article allows for a new series of articles “DPconversations Podcast” accompanied with recorded and downloadable readings from the Cheon Seong Gyeong of Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon’s canonized texts. When you listen to the audio, I hope you enjoy my ramblings and thoughts on the text, similar to the way it was shared with me by Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon himself!

Finding Joy Together

“The passing joys of those who delight in the pleasures of the flesh are nothing compared to the bliss experienced by those on the path of enlightenment, who find joy in the midst of simple poverty. Gautama Buddha, who abandoned the luxuries of the royal palace and became enraptured in the pursuit of the Way, was not the only one who wandered about homeless while searching for his heart’s resting place. Just as a healthy body depends upon a sound mind, so too the joy of the body is complete only when the mind is content.” (Divine Principle, p.3 para 3)

On 22 April 2018 I survived an interview by Mr. Tom Dunkel of the Washington Post Magazine. He carefully asked if I was homeless–homeless for a church, that is. I laughed and responded that I am not homeless. It is fortunate that I do have a roof over my head for I do not think I could wander about homeless like Gautama Buddha and survive to see the next morning. Men and women are different, you see? No, I responded to Mr. Dunkel, we read holy scripture at home–we home church. Even as we study and develop individually we depend on a God centered healthy interaction between husband and wife, parents and children, coworkers, friends, men and women to find the fullness of tangible and intangible content.

My husband and I have been married now into our eleventh anniversary and still I realize that our relationship is evolving and is a living testament to the endurance of God’s strength. Shaunti Feldhahn claims eight revelations are hers to share with the world in her book For Women Only. She explains that after tons of research and interviews with men of all backgrounds she has found eight common underlying attributes to them that are headline news to women. Her eighth point really had me at “aha” which she alludes to as the “light bulb on!” moment in human relationships (Feldhahn, p.8-9). It reads: “You don’t need to be a size 3, but your man does need to see you making the effort to take care of yourself–and he will take on significant cost or inconvenience in order to support you.” This is something a man will never tell a woman, raise your hand if you already know this. I sure didn’t! I have been through a decade of marriage and have never really been told by my husband that he cares about how I look. However, when I read Shaunti’s last revelation I realize that he, in fact, does notice and care about my physical existence, which, I find nice.  I would never have known that my husband, whom I understand to have despised me for my entire married life, actually appreciates my beauty when he uses his extremely limited resources to buy me clothes and workout equipment. Forgive me if I claim this as my one golden egg from the marriage that my husband and I have not betrayed in good faith.

Jesus mentions Shaunti’s revelation of man’s generosity and care, in the parable of the good Samaritan. However, this time, the relationship is between two men: a beggar and an affluent man. The law is written that to love God, men and women need to love God with all of their soul heart mind and strength, and to love thine neighbor as thyself. (Holy, Luke 10:26-28). The good Samaritan is a man with a God centered conscience and generosity. Don’t you think it is generous of the good Samaritan to have cared so tenderly for a man he had never met? Jesus said for humankind to do just this in order to inherit eternal life (Holy, Luke 10:25-37). Thus, we can understand from Jesus that it is not the church that will bring us to heaven but our unity with God’s law in our soul heart mind and strength. Jesus revealed in the parable of the good Samaritan that our actions stem from the axis of our conscience and that good men will naturally care for the people around them. The axis of our conscience is God.

All of us have something precious to offer to God. He created us to be His physical manifestations on this earth. He wants us to learn about love that is patient kind and everlasting. He wants so much for us, and we have revelations of it through religion or science. Religion is the invisible enlightenment and science is the physical. Now, as religion and science come together it is more important to the discovery of cooperation and a peaceful future that humanity acknowledge and attend God. The greatest revelations are those of Jesus the Lord at His First Coming and Sun Myung Moon the Lord at His Second Coming. We must begin to understand their words.
